Fluorescence and Absorbance Spectrometer Training In-Person
Get trained to use the Breakserspace's fluorescence and absorbance spectrometer!
All trainings take place one-on-one or in small groups with a Breakerspace laboratory assistant. Completion of a training session for an instrument will provide one with login access to that instrument via an instrument reservation or walk-ins anytime during laboratory open hours. Completion of one's first training session with the Breakerspace will provide tap access to the laboratory as well as the Breakerspace lounge and coffee machines.
This fluorescence and absorbance spectrometer training provides instruction on the following:
- A broad overview of how the instrument works and the kinds of characterization it can perform
- How to prepare samples for characterization
- Formal procedures to ensure appropriate use of the instrument
- Basic instrument operations including:
- Loading/unloading samples
- Starting up/shutting down the instrument and logging into its software
- Other important miscellaneous operations
